Overview

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Talent & Culture (Human Resources) Assistant at the Rice Lake Campus.

 

The Talent and Culture Assistant contributes to the efficient and responsive operation of the Talent & Culture Department.  This position has responsibilities in the areas of recruitment, credentialing, and employee relations. Working in a team environment, individual provides excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students, and the public.

 

Partially Remote: This position involves some duties that could be performed in a remote or off-site environment. Campus-based duties requiring in-person availability are scheduled regularly, approximately three to four days per week.

  • Support the operations of the Talent & Culture Department, providing a high level of customer service and fostering positive employee relations.
  • Manage various employee relations functions, including the organization and tracking of job descriptions and task lists.
  • Lead recruitment advertising efforts by creating print ads, managing online job postings, and coordinating with local newspapers and other media outlets to maximize visibility for open positions; assist applicants through the recruitment process in iCIMS.
  • Provide general onboarding support by conducting I-9 verifications and assisting new hires as needed.
  • Process and distribute all mailings for the Talent & Culture Division.
  • Assist with compliance projects and initiatives, contributing to a supportive and legally compliant workplace.
  • Support the faculty credentialing process by updating records and maintaining information in the credentialing system.
  • Maintain and update employee records across multiple platforms, including Anthology, ImageNow, and relevant vendor sites.
  • Serve as a designated Campus Security Authority (CSA) to receive and report criminal incidents to the Northwood Tech Safety Office by virtue of this role’s responsibilities at the College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Degree & Experience Required:

  • Associate's degree (or two years post-secondary education) in related field or equivalent*
  • Two years related work experience 

*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be a high school diploma plus four years of relevant experience 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills and a focus on creative problem solving
  • Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to be detail-oriented
  • Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Salary

FY25 Salary - Grade H - $21.05 / hour
