Overview
Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Student Recruitment Specialist at the Ashland Campus.
The Student Recruitment Specialist develops and implements a recruitment plan, assists prospective students in making informed decisions about career options and encourages post-secondary education. The Student Recruitment Specialist establishes and maintains relationships with public and private middle and high schools, workforce development and similar agencies, to promote education and a skilled workforce.

- Develop and coordinate recruitment strategies for traditional and non-traditional students, including outreach to special populations.
- Participate in college-wide, campus teams, and regional teams to develop and implement strategies and activities to promote enrollment.
- Collaborate with members of the marketing & recruitment team to design and develop creative and innovative recruitment materials.
- Develop and deliver career education presentations for targeted audiences.
- Research and implement best practices in recruitment.
- Coordinate on-campus events, including career days and exploration days, with campus enrollment team.
- Assist Northwood Tech web team by ensuring information is current and accurate on northwoodtech.edu.
- Represent Northwood Tech at college fairs and other recruitment events.
- Serve as liaison to community middle schools, high schools, agencies and community partners.
- Participate in Rapid Response events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree & Experience Required:
- Associate’s degree in related field
- Four years related work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining accountability and motivation in self and others
- Strong customer service skills that focus on diversity, community, and continuous quality improvement
- Problem-solving skills that employ critical thinking
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
- Experience leading projects through time management and effective delegation
- Work experience in sales, public speaking, college admissions or recruitment
- Ability to be detail-oriented, well organized, work independently on assigned tasks, and work under pressure, and ability to adapt to different circumstances
- Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy
Preferred:
- Previous experience with post-secondary recruitment
- Experience with CRM
Salary
FY25 Salary - Grade J - $26.26 / hour
