Overview
Northwood Technical College is seeking applications for Standardized Patients at the Shell Lake Health Education Center.
The main responsibility of the Standardized Patient is to portray a patient in a realistic, standardized, and repeatable way for healthcare education, evaluation, and research. Standardized patients will simulate the signs and symptoms of a specific condition during an encounter, often including an interview and/or physical assessment by students as part of the health sciences student learning experience. The position of Standardized Patient is an intermittent, part-time commitment, but can have a great positive impact on the confidence and competence of students and ultimately health care professionals.

- Complete training to learn necessary details of case scenario and role.
- Portray role according to scenario and script guidelines.
- Participate in an encounter with the student that may include an interview, health screen, and/or non-invasive intervention.
- Maintain confidentiality of case scenarios, students, and other Standardized Patients.
- Allow video recording of simulations for educational purposes.
- Communicate respectfully with students and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

FY26 Salary - Call Staff/Grade G - $18.99
