Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Procurement Associate at any of our four campus locations. (Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake or Superior)

 

The Procurement Associate is an integral member of the procurement team, responsible for assisting in the procurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The role requires demonstrated interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external vendors while supporting sourcing and contract negotiations. This position utilizes consultative communication to explain complex procurement policies and 'best practice' sourcing to non-financial staff in a service-oriented manner and applies problem-solving proficiency to identify departmental needs and provide creative solutions. Additionally, this position ensures compliance with college policies regarding expense reporting, P-card administration, and financial record maintenance.

 

*This position involves duties that could be performed in a remote or off-site environment. Campus-based duties are minimal, requiring in-person availability approximately once per month.

  • Procurement Support: Facilitate the public procurement process (RFxs and Bids), process purchase orders, and manage major/capital procurement and E-Commerce platforms.
  • Expense & P-Card Administration: Review, approve, and process employee expenses in Anthology; provide administrative support, training, and troubleshooting for the college P-card system. Collaborate with Accounts Payable on vendor and P-card matters.
  • Contract & Data Management: Maintain document retention and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Customer Service & Collaboration: Partner with academic and administrative departments to provide guidance on sourcing options and procurement best practices, software troubleshooting, and policy enforcement.  
  • Vendor Relations: Primary point of contact for external vendors regarding orders, procurement guidelines, and issue resolution.
  • Audit & Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records, manage audit documentation, and report compliance concerns to the Procurement Manager.
  • Managerial Support: Provide assistance to Procurement Manager and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Systems Support: Proficiency in Perceptive Content (ImageNow), Anthology, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), and ESM/College Marketplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Degree & Experience Required:

  • Associate’s degree in related field or *equivalent
  • Three years related work experience

*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be a high school diploma plus 6-7 years of relevant experience 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
  • Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Salary

FY26 Salary - Grade I - $23.79 / hour
