Nature of Work: This position supports the Utilities Department's Water and Wastewater operations through process monitoring, optimization, and technical support. The Process Specialist works closely with Operations, Laboratory, Maintenance, Safety, and Management to improve treatment performance, support regulatory compliance, assist with capital projects, and maintain asset management and safety programs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Monitor and analyze treatment processes using SCADA, laboratory, and operational data to improve performance and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist with troubleshooting processes, equipment upgrades, capital projects, and asset management responsibilities
  • Prepare technical reports, provide operational support, and assist with departmental safety and training initiatives

Requirements: Associate's degree in Water or Wastewater Treatment, Environmental Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five years of experience in water or wastewater treatment or related industrial operations. Working knowledge of treatment processes, SCADA systems, and regulatory compliance required. Valid Wisconsin driver's license required.

Salary: Competitive hourly wage from $30.7557 - $46.1335, plus an excellent fringe benefit package including paid time off, health, life, dental, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is among the best funded and best managed public pension systems in the country.
