Our Community Development Department is searching for a Plumbing Inspector to join the team. This position is responsible for performing inspection of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings for compliance with City and State codes. Work involves routine field inspection, investigation of complaints, issuing permits, reviewing proposals and plans, and dealing with the public. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Inspections Supervisor.
Qualifications
This position requires considerable experience in the plumbing trade, a Journeyman Plumbing License or Master Plumber License and the ability to obtain Commercial Plumbing Inspector credential by the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and in accordance with DSPS 305.625, or a combination of applicable experience and training.
Salary
The starting salary for this position is $30.76 hourly with the ability to earn up to $46.13 hourly, plus an excellent fringe benefit package including paid time off, health, life, dental, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is among the best funded and best managed public pension systems in the country. Employees, spouses, and dependents over the age of 12 months who are covered on the City’s medical plan are eligible to use the Connecting Care Clinic (CCC). The CCC provides primary and acute care services and physical therapy at no cost to the patient.
