Course Offerings:
Working to build a pool of part-time faculty available to teach weekdays – daytime and evening for our Fall 2025 semester that begins August 16, 2025. Please indicate availability on your resume/cover letter.
Courses are delivered in a variety of formats.
SALARY: $45.00 per class hour contracted
Requires unofficial transcripts to be submitted for instructor certification eligibility review.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.
- Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain accurate student records and communication.
- Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals. This includes being accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom time.
- Provide educational leadership and work effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.
- Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation.
- Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
- Additional duties and responsibilities will be discussed as needs arise.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Course emphasis is the delivery of STEM and non-STEM math courses, ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus 2
- Coordinate with mathematics instructors at local high schools on mathematics transcribed credit courses to ensure maintenance of NWTC standards for quality and rigor. Includes facilitation of meetings to coach and communicate expectations with K12 faulty.
- Collaborate with other math team members and Academic Coaching & Tutoring staff and utilize pertinent data to ensure consistent quality instruction and assessment
- Keeping constant communication with students through responding to e-mail and through LMS System to deliver just-in-time assistance
- Outreach and recruitment activities as requested by department/division/college (e.g. high school career fairs, NEW SOI activity facilitation, Explore Days activities for district high schools, ACPS activities for district high schools, Chamber of Commerce education fairs/events, campus open houses, Tech Challenge, MindTrekkers, Find Your Inspiration events, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college in Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics with a minimum of 8 graduate level credits in Calculus or a Master's degree and 18 graduate level credits in mathematics with a minimum of 8 credits of Calculus are required.
- Examples of qualifying subfields could include, but are not limited to:
- Math Education
- Statistics
- Econometrics
- Economics
- Engineering
- Physics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred
