LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: Monday - Thursday, schedule to be determined at the time of hire. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of our students.

Minimum Starting Rate of Pay: $22.26 per hour

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY 

Advise students regarding information, procedures and academic requirements. Assist students in evaluating academic abilities and setting goals. Assist with registration and graduation requirements. Advise students regarding course content, course selection, pre-requisites, curriculum changes, recommended credit load, curriculum planning and timely graduation. Make recommendations to divisional leadership and students regarding appropriate courses of action to respond to students’ complex personal and academic challenges

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Use coaching framework, assess the student's stage of development (academic, career, and personal) and promote student growth by determining suitable developmental tasks; assist students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.  Advise students regarding course content, course selection, pre-requisites, curriculum changes, recommended credit load, and curriculum planning to ensure timely graduation.
  • Coach students on academic, career and personal issues; identify the educational and career options appropriate for each student and assist with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes and their implications; if needed, refer student to appropriate student services; set up an action plan for the student to meet their academic goals.
  • Support Advising team by managing and communicating with students needing assistance relative to course enrollment, intervention referrals, and academic plan changes.
  • Interpret and explain college policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to increase enrollment.
  • Resolve questions and advocate for students regarding academic policies and procedure.
  • Flexibility to work evening hours as needed to support students 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of two years related experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Web Browsers.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous Workday experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in advising and career assessment is preferred.
