The City of Appleton is currently accepting applications for a vacancy in Public Works. Applicants should have experience in equipment operation, and will be responsible for roadway maintenance, snow & ice control, and leaf collection. Work involves street sweeping, pavement repairs, operating heavy equipment, snow plowing and hauling snow. Work also includes pothole patching, crack filling, bridge maintenance, responding to various emergency requests including water main breaks, emergency barricading, storm damage and performing daily equipment maintenance.

Qualifications 

Employees must live within a twenty-five-mile radius or reasonably be able to respond to an emergency and report within thirty minutes. A commercial driver’s license with air brakes and trailer endorsements along with a good driving record are required.

Schedule is four 10-hour days, year-round, 09:00PM – 7:00AM with the option to work 2:00AM –

12:00PM during the summer months.

Salary

The hiring salary range for this position is $28.00 – $29.84 per hour, with the ability to earn up to $33.69 hourly. Plus, an excellent fringe benefit package including paid time off, health, life, dental, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
