The City of Appleton is currently accepting applications for a vacancy in Public Works. Applicants are responsible for repair and maintenance to all department vehicles and heavy equipment. Work involves maintaining vehicles at or above factory standards for safe operation; diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical problems; and performing fabricating procedures. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Foreman.

Qualifications 

Employees must live within a twenty-five-mile radius or reasonably be able to respond to an emergency and report within thirty minutes. A commercial driver’s license with air brakes and trailer endorsements or the ability to obtain one, along with a good driving record are required.

Schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, first shift. Start times would be between 6:00am and 8:00am.

Salary

The hiring salary range for this position is $32.50 – $36.34 per hour. Plus, an excellent fringe benefit package including paid time off, health, life, dental, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
