NATURE AND SCOPE
Our Landmark Summer Internship Program offers a unique, hands-on experience designed to help you build valuable skills in key corporate areas that align with your field of study. Our paid, full-time internship program is located at our Brookfield Headquarters building and runs for 12 weeks, from June 2 - August 11, 2025. During this time, interns will have the opportunity to participate in professional development activities, network with peers, and engage with senior leaders. Through this experience, you’ll explore potential career paths, expand your knowledge of Financial Institutions, and strengthen your professional skills that will prepare you for future success in a dynamic, People First culture.
As a Finance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and develop a solid understanding of how a financial institution operates and drivers of success. In this role, you will:
• Identify and analyze key financial metrics, uncovering the drivers of those metrics and evaluating the institution’s ability to influence its performance.
• Build presentation skills via a summer-long project and gain proficiency in financial software tools.
• Gain experience working with other departments, such as accounting, operations, technology and sales management, to understand the role of finance in broader organizational success.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates entering their senior year.
2. Strong analytical abilities with an interest in strategy, data analysis, financial metrics, and reporting.
3. Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
5. Ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and willingness to learn.
6. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
7. Ability to work 40 hours per week for the 12-week program.
8. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Learn the financial industry and needs of our members and internal stakeholders.
2. Understand how to apply financial theories and calculations to drive business strategy.
3. Assist with developing/providing management reporting.
4. Learn Asset and Liability Management (ALM) theories as well as Credit (CECL) metrics.
5. Collaborate with team members on weekly/monthly management reporting, business reviews and forecast.
6. Assist with other Finance projects, such as competitor analysis, pricing analysis and more.
7. Learn our corporate culture and basic day-to-day communication/work processes.
8. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas.
9. Take on special projects and assignments as directed by manager.
10. Perform other duties as needed.
