The Women’s Community currently has a position available as a Director of Finance (Business Manager/Accountant).
JOB TITLE: Director of Finance
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Finance has responsibility for corporate fiscal management, assisting the Executive Director in assuring the fiscal stability of the agency, and other general corporate matters. Consults with Board Treasurer and corporate audit firm regarding maintenance of fiscal records.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE: The Director of Finance will report directly to the Executive Director. Works closely with Executive Director and other staff. Provides input and information on operational efficiency and shares ideas for improvement.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Management
- Reviews and is familiar with grant fiscal guidelines and responsibilities.
- Prepares monthly financials for board review. Attends monthly board meetings.
- Prepares and initiates bi-weekly payroll.
- Pays all required taxes in timely manner.
- Along with Executive Director, prepares annual agency budget.
- Attends all required agency meetings as scheduled.
- Communicates in a professional and timely manner.
Fiscal Management
- Final budget preparation for all grants.
- Makes recommendations to Executive Director on current and long-term fiscal status of agency.
- Maintains payroll journal and individual year-to-date earnings journal for all staff.
- Revises agency cost allocation plan to comply with funding sources as necessary.
- Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including quarterly 941 and U.C. Report.
- Assures appropriate accounts charged for all disbursements. Reconciles monthly bank statement for general account.
- Coordinates annual audit process with Board-approved CPA and completes audit work papers.
- Consults with Board Treasurer, Executive Director, and other resources regarding corporate fiscal procedures, including complete computerization of agency fiscal records.
- Meet with funding source representatives for on-site fiscal review.
- Prepares cash flow projections; consults with Executive Director on agency cash flow needs.
- Meets with Program Coordinators and Executive Director regarding program income versus expenses; makes recommendations regarding expense revisions throughout the year based on actual and projected income.
- Maintains monthly journals. Performs necessary accounting adjustments for all TWC accounts.
- Assists Executive Director with long-range financial planning and other agency management activities as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software. Associate Degree in Accounting with one to two years accounting and/or Business Management experience. Ability to prepare financial statements including variance reports, consolidated income and expense reports, and cash flow projections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Knowledge of state and federal fiscal planning and reporting, personnel record keeping and reporting.
Bi-lingual fluency is a plus.
This is an in-person (not virtual) job.
Driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle are required.
Compensation
Hourly Wage: $24 to $26
