Our Community Development Department is searching for an Economic Development Specialist to join the team. This is a professional position responsible for conducting and administering planning, economic development, and redevelopment programs and projects. The work involves managing the City's industrial parks, identifying, coordinating and planning redevelopment projects, managing land acquisition and business relocation, updating comprehensive plans and preparing related records and reports. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Deputy Director of Community Development. The incumbent will perform the duties of liaison between neighborhood residents, business owners, multiple City departments, non-profit organizations and the private sector.


Qualifications 

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Economic Development, Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy/Administration, Real Estate, or related field, three to five years urban planning with economic development experience, or a combination of applicable experience and training.


Salary

The starting salary for this position is $ 60,579 annually with the ability to earn up to $84,811 annually, plus an excellent fringe benefit package including paid time off, health, life, dental, and Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). The WRS is among the best funded and best managed public pension systems in the country. Employees, spouses, and dependents over the age of 12 months who are covered on the City’s medical plan are eligible to use the Connecting Care Clinic (CCC). The CCC provides primary and acute care services and physical therapy at no cost to the patient.
