Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Admissions Advisor at the Rice Lake Campus.
The Admissions Advisor is responsible for providing information for all Northwood Tech programs, courses, and college services. This position creates ongoing relationships with potential students and assists them in their choice of post-secondary education and career training. This position is responsible for assisting in recruitment of students from all market segments and may require travel.

- Provide detailed, technical information regarding all programs offered college wide, via telephone, email, or in person. This includes knowledge and communication of admissions procedures, campus tours, shadowing coordination, and additional student support services as needed.
- Interview prospective students and advise them on available programs, events, and support services that Northwood Tech has to offer which meet the prospective student’s career and education goals and maintains communication with the prospective student until the student has reached a final college decision.
- Coordinate Associate Degree Nursing application and petition process.
- Serve as a back-up resource to the Career Specialist to deliver presentations for targeted audiences in the community at high schools, agencies, businesses, and on the reservations.
- Advise potential students, inquiries, and applicants that have not completed the admissions process and document interactions.
- Coordinate and communicate with admitted and wait list students regarding program orientations and registration events. Continuously monitor enrollments and waitlists.
- Complete roster verification process by contacting students who are registered for our courses but do not attend.
- Serve as a member of the campus Student Services Team and Enrollment Team and provide input in developing creative and innovative recruitment and retention goals, marketing strategies, and participate in events and activities on and off campus as needed.
- Actively participate on campus and college-wide committees.
- Coordinate the Start College Now process; applications, registrations, events, and follow-up.
- Positively represent and market Northwood Tech
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree & Experience Required:
- Associate’s degree (or two years post-secondary education) in related field or *equivalent
- Two years related work experience
*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
- Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
- Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
- Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
- Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy
Preferred:
- Experience with CRM Software
- Sales or recruitment experience
Salary
FY25 Salary - Grade H - $21.05 / hour
