Overview

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Academic Program Associate at the New Richmond Campus. 

 

As an integral member of the program team, the Academic Program Associate is responsible for providing administrative and program support for designated program areas including aspects of program scheduling and advisory committee support.

 

**This position involves some duties that could be performed in a remote or off-site environment. Campus-based duties requiring in-person availability are scheduled weekly.

  • Provide administrative and program support to the academic dean, associate dean, and director.
  • Work collaboratively with the academic dean, associate dean, and director  on accreditation/designation documentation and reporting
  • Provide administrative support to the academic dean, associate dean, and director  for program initiative documentation and reporting including maintaining minutes of meetings
  • Assist academic dean, associate dean, scheduling office, and program directors with all aspects of the scheduling process for assigned program areas. This may include but is not limited to the development and modification of course and teaching schedules, maintaining documentation of faculty workload, monitoring course enrollments, and data entry into the ERP system.  
  • Research, summarize, analyze information, and prepare reports related to scheduling, advisory committees, enrollment, budgets, travel, and program or divisional areas as requested by supervisor.
  • Initiate and complete overload payroll documentation for full-time and part-time faculty for Talent & Culture office
  • Schedule, plan and provide administrative and technical support for advisory committees for the program dean and faculty who chair these committees including compiling and maintaining all advisory committee member databases for program areas
  • At the direction of the academic dean, associate dean, and director  and in collaboration with program directors, monitor and maintain all major equipment purchases for yearly budget and facilities
  • Coordinate, track and secure professional development and travel arrangements as requested by the academic dean, associate dean, and director 
  • Process paperwork for new course curriculum and course modifications in collaboration with the Curriculum Office and the academic dean, associate dean, and director 
  • Assist academic dean, associate dean, and program directors in ensuring compliance with College procedures
  • Collaborate with curriculum personnel, the academic dean, associate dean, and program directors on website content
  • Utilize advanced skills with and knowledge of technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Collaborate with counterparts in the Academic Affairs division
  • Represent Northwood Tech in the community and at community events as requested.
  • Actively participate on committees as requested
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Degree & Experience Required:

  • Associate’s degree in related field (or equivalent*)
  • Three years related work experience

(*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be a high school diploma plus 6-7 years of relevant experience)

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
  • Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Preferred:

  • PeopleSoft experience

Salary

FY25 Salary - Grade I - $23.50 / hour
