Inclusive Policy for Transgender Employees 101

Description

Guest Speaker Alex Burton will utilize both her experiences on Eaton North America’s transgender policies committee and as a trans person to present on essential workplace factors for transgender employees and workplace transitions. 

This virtual session will go over the many aspects of employment that need to be considered for trans employees, such as: healthcare, name changes, gender markers, pronouns, ethics and legal compliance, and professional presentation. 

After graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2022 with her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Alex Burton (she/her) joined Eaton in Waukesha as a marketing engineer for electrical transformers. Since then, she’s become very involved in Eaton’s Pride employee resource group, serving on Eaton North America’s transgender policy committee and as head of Pride for Eaton’s Power Systems Division. You may recognize her from her involvement in Chamber groups like the Business Leadership Academy and the Workplace Alliance. In her personal time, she loves hiking at national parks and playing intensely complicated board games.
