Many of the questions the U.S. Department of Labor-Wage and Hour Division (WHD) receives from employers are questions related to hours worked issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act: When is travel time compensable? What about training time, meetings or on-call time? When must meal breaks be paid? This WHD session will address those hours worked issues and many more. The session will also provide critical guidance on which employees are exempt from overtime and what factors are used by WHD to identify employees who have been misclassified as independent contractors. The session will also include a Q & A period to allow attendees to clear up uncertainty on any issues related to federal wage and hour laws.
