Name: Milwaukee Women's Leadership Luncheon
Date: June 24, 2020
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
You are invited to the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Milwaukee Women's Leadership Luncheon featuring Anne Marie Arroyo and Tamela Greene, owners of MOXIE Food + Drink and Trouble and Sons Pizzeria. They'll share their story and thoughts in a conversation moderated by Carole Nicksin, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Milwaukee Magazine.

Before opening their restaurants, MOXIE Food + Drink and Trouble and Sons Pizzeria, Anne Marie Arroyo and Tamela Greene were long-time motorcyclists and employees of Harley-Davidson Motor Company here in Milwaukee.

In December 2015, after a collective 30 years at Harley-Davidson, their corporate jobs were eliminated in a company downsizing that affected over 500 employees. They decided their next move would be to reinvent themselves and start their own business.

Being immersed in the motorcycling industry for so long and sharing that passion with so many good people, they believed they could take that positive energy and create a new livelihood that would bring people from all walks of life together. That’s how the concepts for MOXIE Food + Drink and Trouble and Sons Pizzeria were born.

Anne Marie and Tamela are proud to say they have created 50+ jobs since December 2016 and that MOXIE was named Milwaukee Business Journal’s Largest LGBT-Owned Business in Southeastern WI in 2017, 2018 and 2019. MOXIE was also named Wisconsin LGBT Business of the Year by the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce in 2018, and one of Milwaukee Magazine’s Best New Restaurants in 2018. Both MOXIE and Trouble and Sons are Certified LGBT Business Enterprises, by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

Anne Marie has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UW-Milwaukee with a focus on Human Resources and Economics. She has 20-plus years of corporate experience in banking and manufacturing where she held roles that included lease financing sales, strategic planning, operations team management, and serving on Harley-Davidson’s Diversity and Inclusion Board.

Tamela has a Master of Communications degree from Morehead State University. She worked several years in marketing and advertising while also teaching motorcycle safety courses before being recruited by Harley-Davidson to help design their global rider education program. Upon the successful launch of that business segment, Tamela moved on to roles in operations and business development at the Harley-Davidson Museum.

This event will feature networking from 11:30 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch, and then the keynote and dialogue. Lunch will feature a salad and sandwich buffet, which includes a green salad, pasta salad, potato salad, and three sandwich options.
