Join us for our next Fox Valley Lunch & Learn on either Wednesday, August 23 or Thursday, August 24 (both days will be same presentation but wanted to give you an option to attend). Our topic is SAFE: A Workplace Domestic Violence Awareness Program presented by Harbor House, one of our long-time Chamber members. The lunch & learn runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
SAFE (Safety Awareness for Employers) is a new community outreach and DV education program. The program’s intention is to remove workplace communication barriers, set up a workplace safety zone and strengthen the supportive connections between employees and employers. Designated SAFE Spaces with certified company “first responders” will ensure that those experiencing domestic violence are able to receive immediate, confidential support, guidance and resources while securing their financial independence via their employer.
Harbor House is advocating for community businesses to understand the depths of domestic violence and what to do to help employees navigate a domestic violence situation.
The SAFE Space program is specifically designed to reach out, educate and train company staff, managers and HR representatives on the issue of domestic violence and how it affects the work place, both in terms of economic impact, employee safety and retention.
Register today for this important Lunch & Learn.
A huge thank you to Goodwill Industries NCW for hosting us.
