Event Description:
Join the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce for our inaugural Madison area "Food for Thought" featuring Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, Chief Diversity Office for UW Health. The objective of “Food for Thought” is to provide Chamber members an opportunity to have lunch and a discussion in a small group with a key community or business leader and hear their story.
Shiva has an extensive background in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. During her tenure at UW Health, Shiva has developed a model interpreter-services program and served as an organization-wide resource on cultural competency and diversity issues. Shiva has made significant contributions to the community holding many key roles, including co-chair of the Latino Health Council of Dane County, member of the Madison College Board of Trustees, Madison Community Foundation board member and United Way of Dane County Vision Council member. She has been recognized for her work with the YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, the City of Madison/Dane County Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award, and the Athena Leadership Award and was named one of the “15 of Madison’s Most Influential People” by In Business Magazine in July 2016. In addition, she has served as a member of the Madison City Council since April 2009.
This event is open only to current members of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
