Event Description:
Join us for our second annual "Stonewall Dinner: Remembering the Past, Celebrating the Future" on Wednesday, October 10 in Green Bay. Our keynote speaker is Evan Thornburg.
Evan Thornburg currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Mayor’s Office of LGBT Affairs for the Kenney Administration in Philadelphia, PA and is a diversity expert specializing in policy development, programming, and training on LGBTQ identities and intersectionality.
Evan grew up between Philadelphia, PA and Houston, TX, receiving her BA in American Studies/Civilizations from Ursinus College. Evan has trained thousands of individuals and collaborated with hundreds of organizations and institutions over the last 13 years when it comes to inclusion, competency, advocacy, and proactive engagement of LGBTQ individuals, specifically LGBTQ folx of color, elders, and youth.
Currently some of Evan’s more profound and exciting work is redesigning the mandated citywide anti-sexual harassment training program, building out an LGBTQ Leadership Pipeline Program for Philadelphia, creating protections for LGBTQ elders in long term care, and implementing LGBTQ competency trainings for Philadelphia City departments. Evan believes there’s never too much reading, coffee, or drawing that can be had or done in this world.
This event will feature a cocktail reception from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and program. We hope you'll be able to make it.
