Our keynote speaker is Mario White, Dane County Circuit Court Commissioner. White has been a Dane County Circuit Court Commissioner since 2018. In that role, he presides over a caseload that includes small claims, family and criminal. Prior to becoming a court commissioner, Commissioner White was as an Assistant State Public Defender. As a public defender, he was recognized for his trial skills when the Wisconsin Law Journal named him a 2017 Leader in the Law. Commissioner White has been on the faculty of the National Criminal Defense College in Bristol, Rhode Island and teaches at the Wisconsin Public Defender Trial Skills Academy.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2008, Commissioner White became an adjunct professor coaching mock trial and teaching trial skills to second and third year law students. A 2005 graduate of Oklahoma State University, Commissioner White was named a 2018 OSU Outstanding Alum by the Oklahoma State University College of Arts and Sciences.
